Warning: Do You Think Your Bowl Is Full?

December 29, 2015 Kathy Shaull

You have a bowl in Heaven.

bowl fullWithout pretending to fully comprehend the entire book of Revelation, chapter 5:8 says in part, “[they were]holding golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints.”

As I was looking at this one day, it really hit me: If someone was depending on my prayers to fill a bowl, how full would it be?

My Son and I have always had the debate of the 4 oz. glass with 2 oz. of fluid in it.

Is it half empty?

Is it half full?

Or, as I prefer, is it the wrong size glass?

Sure, that’s a fun debate, but this is a more serious question?

How full is YOUR bowl?

I don’t make resolutions any more. For the last couple of years I have seen God give me a word to focus on. My word for 2015 has been “Enough.” I will admit that I got involved in too many projects and forgot to really work on this word, but from time to time God reminded me that He’s my Enough.

I’ll say more about my word for 2016 later, but with today’s verse in mind – I’ll be dedicating more time to prayer.
