He Is Risen:
His GRACE will be our focus during April:
God’s Riches At Christ’s Expense. The cost of Heaven for me was Christ’s blood. Undeserved.
When I was a child, my mother and grandmother shopped at a local grocery store that offered S&H Green Stamps. The more money you spent, the more Green Stamps you got. It was a very low-tech loyalty program. You take the stamps home and glue them into books. Then you use a catalog or go to the Green Stamp Store – in the next town over – to see what you could get for “free.” Of course, it wasn’t really free. You’d spent money on groceries to get the stamps. You’d spent hours and hours and hours gluing the things into books and turning your fingers green in the process. But the thing is – you REDEEMED them. When you REDEEMED them, you received something much more valuable than green rectangles on paper. You traded up. “Here’s my bag of green sticky stuff that I got when I paid for groceries. May I have those glasses?” And the store said, “Sure. Just pay the tax.“
So, follow me now. By this point you’re thinking, “What do Green Stamps have to do with Easter and the Cross?”
I’ve been REDEEMED. I AM the worthless green rectangle that Jesus took to His Father and said, “Here’s this little red-headed girl that I paid for on the cross. May she have Heaven and Eternal Life and every good thing?” And Father God said, “Sure. YOU PAID IT ALL.“
“Thank you” seems so little for such a gift as this.
Art Note:
I’m participating in a year-long Bible study from His Kingdom Come called Take Me Deeper. #tmd2015 This was my page for this week. These gelli prints struck me as special from the moment I first pulled them. I knew something important needed to go in the center white space in the left. I cannot think of anything more special than the name of my beloved Jesus.
He is Risen. He is at work. He will continue to change lives. How is He changing yours today?
