What in the world does KINDNESS have to do with grocery shopping?
Nothing. And everything. Kindness is everything.
Recently I had one of THOSE days. A day where I’d struggled to get anything done. I had a zillion errands and was running late getting somewhere I really needed to be. And, next errand on my list was: groceries.
I rushed into the store and grabbed a cart. Then I headed down the aisle at a speed somewhere between Indy 500 and Mach 2. And that’s when it happened.
I looked outside of myself.
There was an older woman standing – well, more like LEANING against a display. She had an armful of items and a look on her face that could only be described as EXHAUSTED. It was a blazing hot day, and I asked if she was okay. She just needed a shopping cart. She was too tired to continue without one.
I gave her mine. And she cried.
That cut me to the core. My shopping cart was nothing special – to me, but it was the world to her.
So here’s my challenge to you: put wheels on your kindness. Offer something small to someone else. It may just make their day. Would you be willing to sign up for 31 Days of Kindness? One small act per day to change your small corner of the world. Let me know how it goes!

I love this post! It is absolutely wonderful to stir up kindness within folk. We get so busy in our culture that we sometimes lose track of the importance of looking for opportunities to love. Yay Kathy! I’m with you.
