“You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power,” Rev. 4:11
Last year in my daily Bible study, I noticed a word popping up more and more: Honor. I adopted it as my word for the year, so I was excited to see this lesson for the Take Me Deeper study this week. Living a year where I focused on honoring God in everything changed my life. But how can we Honor God?
1. Welcome Him.
When we open our hearts and lives to God, it unlocks endless potential. It reminds us that He leads us, and we are to follow. That works so much better than whenever we try to take the lead.
2. Worship Him.
God inhabits our praise. It is an invitation for Him to join with us. It is an opportunity for us to praise Him for all He has done for us. The list is endless.
3. Trust Him.
The blessings that come when we allow God to work the impossible through us or for us are beyond compare! If the things you’re working on for the Kingdom would not seem a bit scary without HIS power to get you through, then maybe you’re relying more on YOUR power than HIS.
4. Give financially to Him.
If you do not currently tithe, I strongly recommend it. It’s a mindset. Hubby and I feel that God has provided our jobs and the financial rewards from them. So the money is directly from Him. Giving God back 10% off the top is like a finder’s fee, and He will bless further for doing it. And when He blesses above and beyond the usual, give Him 10% of that as well. Giving to His work helps to further His Kingdom and opens the door to additional blessings. It’s a win-win.
5. Obey Him – Be Kind to the Poor.
Proverbs 14:31, “He who oppresses the poor shows contempt for their Maker, but whoever is kind to the needy honors God.” I know easily which side of that statement I want to be on. What do you think?
This is the third week of my deconstructed flag theme for July. I’m finding it difficult to leave so much white on the page. It nags at me. It makes me feel vulnerable somehow. I don’t know. I’m going to have to ponder that for a bit.
In the meantime, I’m willing eager to demonstrate honor to my Creator. How about you?

Yes, true….He is true to His word. Once again, how on earth it works I don’t know, but it does I suppose it’s not an earthly thing anyway. Above and beyond this come the gifts…Please God work on my joyful giving, and wisdom. 🙂 I suppose this is where the tatty flags come in.
I probably don’t understand the ‘flag’ art, but it is Art and I’m sure it is what He is asking of you. Please forgive me I am an English member of His Kingdom ..oops. Great to have a peep into your heart Kathy….I’m not getting on with my newly creative phase though…oh dear ….:)
