How many more people can we fit into the Shaull house?
“How many more?” became the question recently.
And the answer?
There’s always room for 1 more.
Sure, I’m starting to feel like the Old Woman Who Lived in the Shoe, but when you have such a fierce peace about a decision, it has to be a part of God’s plan. So we welcomed my 17 year-old niece into the house as she begins her senior year of high school.
Man makes plans, and God laughs.
I’d thought that I’d have the kids grown and out on their own by now, and Hubby and I would have already adjusted to our Empty Nest. Then Mother-in-Law moved in, and Son came back to regroup. And now Niece. And I get to be the High School Student’s “Mom” again.
And I’m thrilled.
When someone asked me “Why?” – all I could do is describe my prayer’s answer as a FIERCE PEACE. Strong enough to counter and destroy any doubts or questions. This. was. the. thing. to. do.
Irony 101
The fact that I started August with a drive to find ways each day to demonstrate kindness and now I’m “raising” another child is an irony not lost on me. That would be me, asking God to open my eyes to people with real needs. Um…yeah. This is not what I expected.
So, with the starting of school and trying to re-establish my routine there, and all the changes taking place with this wonderful addition to our home, I may be off my regular weekly blogging schedule. I’m still trying to finish my rough draft for the sequel, so that figures into the mix as well.

You’re so sweet. The feeling is quite mutual!
